Coolest gadget we have for the Christmas Tree this year

Check this out:

The Christmas Tree Water Alert looks like a snowman ornament, and is attached to a sensor gadget that you place in your tree stand, in the water. When the water gets within an inch of the bottom of the stand, the snowman starts to flash. When the snowman flashes, you know it is time to replace the water in your tree stand.

We bought one two years ago at an after-Christmas sale for probably practically nothing, and hadn't used it. Grimjack tried it this year and it is awesome. I am always bad at remembering to water the tree, and usually after the first week or so, the tree starts dropping needles like crazy.

But now, I can keep the tree watered, making it less of a fire hazard. Sweet.

This was the reason we went to a fake tree. I ruined a vacuum once try to get the needles up.

Good idea. And trees smell so good inside, too...

Yeah, a forest fire in the home is not a good thing.

That's a cool gadget.

I miss the real tree. We went with fake a few years ago and now we are stuck with it.

I've sort of wanted to go back to artificial, just because the prices around here for real trees are getting so high. We paid $60 this year at the local fire house, but the money goes to a good cause. The cheaper ones were too wide and we needed a narrow tree this year.

The real ones smell so great, and there really is nothing like them.

We have the real thing. Nothing like them!! I hope I can find a water alert thing here. I'm going to Target tomorrow to find one. (I never need a reason to go there, but it helps)
